Categories: Engineering Job Description: Responsibilities: Designing and developing optical, opto-electrical, opto-mechanical structures Responsible for all optical design, testing from prototyping to production Performing basic optical calculations and simulations in conjunction with optical design to verify the design meets the specification Communicating with vendors to solve any problem encountered during developing and manufacturing Maintaining related documentations such as part number log book and mechanical BOM May also be assigned some tasks in helping on any optical engineering need in the production line Requirements Strong R&D skills and experiences on optical design, simulation, optical testing, MEMS optics devices, lasers, spectrometry, tunable optical devices. Experiences in optical design for applications of optical, optoelectrical, and fiber optic devices, Knowledge of optical design in free space optics and fiber optics. Experiences in optical/optomechanical design and simulation software packages, such as ZEMAX, Code5, Autocad, Solidworks, etc are a plus Good communications skills in English, both oral and written, technical presentation skills a plus Desired candidates shall have BS-EE/ME/Optics/Physics, MS-EE/ME/Optics/Physics, PhD or equivalent, with minimum 2-3 year work experience (MS = 1-2 year experience; PhD = 2-3 years experience
