I have a very diverse skill set... I am most comfortable working in the Windows environment but I have worked in UNIX and Mac environments.
As difficult as it may be I try to keep up with the latest technology so I am very familiar with online chat, instant messaging, net meeting and other remote communication software. I am proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook, and I can get around fairly well in Crystal Reports. For most web design and desktop publishing projects I use Dream weaver, Adobe CS2 and MS Publisher. My knowledge also extends to relational database concepts and design in MS Access, SQL, MySQL and some Oracle. The skills that make me stand out the most are a strong work ethic and excellent time management and communication skills, without these building solid business relationships would be almost impossible.
In each of the following jobs I have used practically all of the above skill set in one way or another and some more extensively than others. I work as a Lead Programmer/Analyst for the Library Systems department at SUNY (State University of New York) for a little over four years now.
I provide technical training and support for an array of applications from MS Office to library application software; Ive done a multitude of database and web page design and maintenance as well as creation and automation of web-based system reports. I also do alot of server administration and computer configuration work, such as installation and maintenance of software/hardware and computer imaging using Symantec Ghost.
In my previous position I was a Systems/Application Analyst in Greenville, Pa. I was responsible for assisting personnel in day-to-day use and automation of HR/Payroll application software. I modified existing Visual Basic programs used to automate HR/Payroll functions and provided application training and documentation to customers and business consultants. I also did a lot of creation and customization in Crystal Reports.
From July 2000 - April 2001 I was an Application Support Analyst for a software company in Exton PA. Yeah I had one of those funky headsets... I provided second level technical support for HR/Payroll software and assisted end users and technical personnel in the installation, configuration, customization and maintenance of proprietary software. I also worked frequently with Crystal Reports software.
From July 1998- July 2000 I was the Senior Network Specialist for a manufacturing company in Scranton, Pa. I did a lot of word processing, desktop publishing and software training, mostly e-mail, terminal emulation, office application and remote access software. I also provided end user technical support locally and remotely. Developed database solutions using Microsoft Access and Visual Basic.
From Dec 97-July 98 I was the Career Analyst at a local university in Scranton, Pa. In this position I got to be at the forefront of the computerization of the Career Services Department. I designed and implemented databases for many of the department services and was instrumental in the upgrade of the department computers and software. I got to work closely with the university Web Master in early phase of transforming office services to the Internet, an awesome opportunity.
Education: December - 1999 Marywood University Scranton, Pa. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information & Telecommunication Systems
Completed course work related to database structure and design, data communications and networking as well as business management and communication.
Extracurricular Activities: Recipient of Academic Achievement Award, 2000. President of Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society, 1998-99. Member of the Computer Club,1997.
