If you’re going to an interview you want to dress to impress. Here are some wardrobe mistakes you might not even know you’re making until it’s too late: A blousy skirt is lousy on a windy day. It may seem like a stylish choice but it just blows.
A tight tailored skirt presents its own pitfalls. Make sure your zipper’s not a ripper and pin the sucker up.
Be yourself… don’t wear someone else’s suit. Find one that fits.
Now tone yourself down a little. You might have the coolest socks in the world but high-water pants will make you look like you are prepared for a flood instead of work.
You missed a button, or you missed all the buttons. It doesn’t hurt to double check that your buttons are all in a row.
It’s not just the buttons that need to meet, it’s important for the shirt fabric to touch as well.
No belt = No job. Pull up your pants, It’s as simple as that.
You want your shoes to be comfortable, but not too comfortable. Men and women should avoid open toed shoes on interviews.
Even if it’s not sandals, footwear can be scandalous. Keep your heels and hems low while wearing your neckline high.
Sometimes seams stop working before you do. Watch your back.
Maybe it isn’t what you wear, but how you accessorize that’s the problem.
Don’t get caught in the trap of poor clothing choices. A little planning and attention to detail will go a long way when you're trying to get the job. It’s not about being labeled by the labels you’re wearing, it's about presenting yourself as professionally as possible.
