Meet CardMunch, A Networking App From Linkedin

Posted By: Melissa Kennedy In: Information Technology

For everyone who uses Linkedin and has an iPhone, a new networking app is a dream come true. One of the biggest challenges in organizing business contacts is keeping track of all of the business cards. With CardMunch, you don't have to keep a rolodex or a card binder. All you have to do is take a photo of a business card with your iPhone camera and submit it to the app. From there, actual people transcribe and edit the information on the card in order for you to add the person to you contact list.

For those who don't want to clog up their phone's address book, CardMunch offers a separate address book feature. Users can decide to sync all of their contacts to their address book, or just a few. In addition, the app keeps a visual rolodex for you, making it easy to flip through all of your business cards.

Another great feature of the app is that once the contact information is transcribed, you can invite the person to your Linkedin with just one tap. It's a great feature and makes it easy to meet someone at a networking event, add their contact information, invite them to Linkedin and share job leads right away. This takes the hassle out of networking.

With all of these features, you'd think that it would be a fairly costly app, however CardMunch is completely free to download and use as much as you'd like. If you have a Linkedin account and an iPhone, try it out and see if it makes networking easier for you.
