Cover Letter
Director of Human Resources,
I am a PC based IT professional/programmer, well versed in both hardware and software aspects of computer technology. My programming background emphasizes C++(Microsoft and Borland versions), Visual Basic, Java, HTML, and JavaScript with some additional experience in C, Pascal, and Assembler. In addition, I have completed and passed the first of the two required CompTIA A+ Certification exams, and I expect to take the second soon. I am also in the process of preparing for the MCSE certification.
I am currently seeking a career position in the field of Computer Science. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in August, 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. I expect to begin my graduate work in Computer Science in the Spring of 2005 on a part time/evening basis so my studies will not interfere with my work schedule.
Since I am making a career change, my on the job experience is primarily in electronics and computer hardware and support, however, I can offer a history of long-term job stability and experience in working with others that the average recent graduate does not possess. Also with a history in a technical field, I have developed excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills that will continue to serve me in my new career as a programmer. This and my ability to take charge of on the job situations are reflected in my enclosed resume. I am also prepared to submit to you examples of my programming ability.
I’m certain that I will prove to be an indispensable addition to your company’s IT staff and I would greatly welcome an opportunity to interview with you. I am available to interview at your convenience. Should you need additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
David Stasinos
