MUNITIONS SYSTEMS APPRENTICEThis career field has one of the broadest missions in the Air Force and offers the widest range of experience and training to its members. You will have the opportunity to learn personnel management skills, warehousing, electronics, computers, heavy equipment maintenance and operation and inventory management. In addition, you will work with and around the newest Air Force jet fighters and bombers.- Receive, identify, inspect, store, recondition, ship, issue, deliver, maintain, test and assemble guided and unguided nonnuclear munitions.- Handle, store and transport nuclear weapons and locally dispose of nonhazardous unserviceable munitions.- Transport munitions using forklifts, trucks, tractors, trailers, bomb-lift trucks, cranes, semitractor trailers and special-purpose vehicles.- Maintain and recondition munitions, munitions-handling equipment and munitions maintenance and storage facilities.- Maintain and operate personal computers and the Sperry 1100 mainframe used with the Combat Ammunition System (CAS).Job assignments in this career field span the globe from Europe and Asia Minor to Japan and the Orient.
