JOB SUMMARY

The Reimbursement Coordinator role is to maximize reimbursement opportunities within the pharmacy department and hospital. These activities may include but not limited to drug replacement programs, co-pay assistance programs, insurance verification for high cost drugs and/or restricted drugs, and denial prevention management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
' Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Health Sciences required. MHA, MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
' Preferred 3-5 years experience with a broad range of training in pharmacy, pharmacy purchasing, clinical documentation, coding, social services and/or hospital billing processes.
' Health Information Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
' Prefer certified/licensed as a pharmacy technician as required by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

' Must have strong verbal & written skills in English, and interpersonal communication skills as well as being highly organized and able to work independently.
' Working knowledge of Health Information Management Systems, and SPSS or SAS is preferred.
' Strong MS Word and Excel skills are required.
