THE ROLE DEFINED
The Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for all marketing and brand positioning via a broad array of tools including digital communications, collateral and website content, direct customer promotion, messaging and brand building. The position will be responsible for overseeing corporate branding, advertising, event presence, online communications, creative design, and development and production of sales and client service collateral. The individual in this role will collaborate with all functions in the company to deliver value-add insights and ideas as to how communications and collateral can support the business strategy, market adoption and customer satisfaction.
The ability to think big-picture while managing very detailed execution is important. The position demands a high-level of multitasking while offering the right candidate the opportunity to truly create and own an integrated marketing communications program from the ground up. In addition, the position will be responsible for engaging internal audiences and helping establish employees as brand ambassadors.
Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals is necessary, ability to perform a wide variety of tasks, collaborate cross-functionally or lead and direct the work of others as appropriate. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
This person must have a proven record of being able to work collaboratively in a team environment, must be able to react quickly to change in direction and opportunity and will have preferably had experience in a start-up environment.
SCOPE AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Work collaboratively with a diverse staff team to create and manage cross-organizational, integrated marketing strategies and collateral development
Execute online programs to drive traffic, e-mail acquisition, and website registrations. This individual should know best practices in online marketing/technology trends, who can locate areas of untapped opportunity and raise the online recognition
Create and execute online and e-mail marketing initiatives that drive traffic and increase existing usage of our site while extending the visibility of our online network to our client audience
Recommend website improvements to increase page views, visitors, e-mail capture, registrations, leads, retention, and sales
Manage and optimize SEM, SEO, inbound linking, and related programs and work with sales and clients to organize new search and e-mail marketing campaigns around product/brand key phrases
Coordinate communications projects with vendors and contractors for the development and production of educational and promotional materials, web site production and other collateral
Provide writing and editing support for all outbound member communication including all promotional materials, website content, and customer communication
Assist in developing sales presentations for inside and outside sales representatives
Review and edit existing promotional materials for marketing effectiveness, cross-selling implications and adherence to brand guidelines.
Analyze daily sales, traffic, trends, and usage and making enhancements to increase opportunities and sales
