Purpose and Scope: The Logistics Analyst facilitates and expedites the movement of materials to and from various points. Works with Production, Vendors, Stores, Distribution Operations, Carriers, Custom Brokers, Customs Compliance, Transportation Management and Customers. Initiates, develops and implements new processes, process improvements, cost savings, performance metrics, exception management reporting. Completes various analytic projects. Works with carriers to prioritize, manage and schedule freight to meet delivery deadlines. Develops new reports, runs reports, analyzes reports and distributes reports with analysis and recommendations. Ensures on-time delivery to final destination and compliance with all international shipping requirements. Responsibilities: Identify core issues and address by providing advanced analytical/business/technical solutions. May creates commercial invoices in compliance with export regulations. Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments and change service level to meet delivery requirements. Create solutions that can be effectively managed by individuals with operational skill sets. Perform transportation/logistics analysis, reviewing carrier performance. Perform cost/benefit analysis and present multiple alternative scenarios. Identify improvement/savings opportunities within functioning processes. Provide expert knowledge in support of transportation management. Automate existing process to insure accuracy and reduce time requirements. Tracking, tracing, rating, and routing shipments. Identify transportation violations and compile data for the Compliance Group for issuance of charge backs. Maintain rate books and insurance certificates. Customer Service "Hot Line" for all Polo stores both FOA and PRC regarding carriers and service. Review daily carrier shipping reports to ensure routing and transit time compliance. Develop and prepare monthly carrier performance reports. Identify methods and areas to improve service, reduce freight costs, and streamline processes. Interface with Operations, IS and Transportation Management to: Identify savings opportunities, Perform process improvements and perform process initiatives. Adhere to all safety requirements Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree; will consider equivalent combination of education and experience, MBA a plus. Understanding of optimization techniques, routing tools and performance metrics. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated decision making skills. Demonstrated follow up skills. Able to discern needs from request and provide functional deliveries. Ability to surface issues and drive to resolution. Advanced competency in Excel, Access and other desk top software. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly communicate and provide guidance to business partners that have English as second language. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment. Ability to work effectively in a team or project environment. Flexible and open to change Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated planning and project management skills. Proven ability to organize multiple projects schedules and meets shifting priorities. Proven ability to develop effective working relationships at all organizational levels. Able to acquire new applications skills and/or process, researching independently Must be able to continuously utilize keyboard 8+ hours per day Must be able to work over 40 hours per week as the business volume demands Must be able to calculate shipping costs and use to make most cost effective routing decisions Ability to determine root cause and eliminate problems Ability to attend and contribute effectively to meetings Ability to train others on details and effectively cross train in other logistics roles Able to respond same day to requests submitted by business partners Able to effectively prioritize work assignments Ability to provide internal teams with shipment delivery forecast information monthly, quarterly and yearly.
