Req Number 36617BR Job Title Anesthesia Technician II Job Code and Payroll Title 8898 ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN II Job Code and Payroll Title 8898 ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN II Location SFGH Department Name Anesthesia & Perioperative Care Work Days Monday - Friday Shift Days Shift Length 8 Hours Job Summary The Anesthesia Technician's primary responsibility is to maintain all anesthesia service areas in readiness for use by Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists. The service areas include all operating rooms. Responsible for anesthesia equipment and supplies as described in this job description and is accountable to the HLT III Sup. The Anesthesia Technician must be able to work independently and be able to make decisions and set priorities with some guidance. The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all applicable infection control, health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department and/or work unit. Additionally, adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including telephone and house standards is required. Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthetic terminology; ability to work independently with good organizational skills; good communication skills; ability to be clearly understood; ability to be friendly, courteous, and work in a cooperative manner; ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure; able to remain standing for protracted periods of time; able to work in a team environment; able to work in urgent stressful situations; able to multi task; ability to see well and read in dim light; able to distinguish colors on the anesthesia monitors; able to hear and comprehend at normal conversational levels; must have manual dexterity to manipulate small equipment including, but not limited to, twisting bulbs, turning dials, changing batteries, and pushing buttons; able to move in confined spaces; able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds, and push or pull wheeled equipment weighing up to 500 pounds on a level surface; pushing/pulling and maneuvering of the anesthesia carts requires moderate to full body force. Also walking is required on a frequent basis and requires walking with a sense of urgency, in order insure patient wellbeing. Preferred Qualifications Anesthesia tech experience; emergency Room experience; EMT experience. License/Certification N/A Position Type Full Time Percentage 100%
