Assistant Portfolio Manager
Summary:
The Assistant Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing active long-only strategies across a variety of domestic and international strategies. This position requires the ability generate new research to enhance investment strategies through stock selection, portfolio construction or asset allocation. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, management capabilities, and the ability to meet with existing clients as well as help the sales team in raising new assets. This position reports into the Director of Research.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
3-7 years of experience in a quantitative research role
Advanced Degree in Business or Finance, and/or CFA
Strong understanding of research process, including backtesting/ statistical analysis
Programming skills, ideally in the statistical software SAS
Experience with financial datasets including: Compustat, CRSP, Worldscope, MarketQA
Experience working with optimizers (APT, Barra, Northfield) and trading international portfolios
Strong communication skills - ideally experience with presenting to clients and consultants
