? Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures with the purchasing team ? Manage and coordinate activities of 3 - 4 personnel engaged in buying, selling and distributing materials ? Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers ? Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy ? Review, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids ? Together with the purchasing team, locate vendors of materials/supplies and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales ? Maintain records of goods ordered and received ? Represent negotiating and formulating policies with suppliers ? Manage and negotiate third party contracts with vendors
Required Skills:
? University/college degree or diploma ? CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser) designation ? 7-10 years experience in purchasing/procurement ? CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience is an asset ? Knowledge and use of Excel and other standard PC programs ? Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic ? Excellent organizational skills with strong ability to organize information ? Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment and meet time sensitive deadlines ? Able to build solid working relationships with all departments and numerous outside contacts ? Previous experience with cost reduction ? Previous experience with contract negotiations ? Must be able to travel internationally
