The Director for Quality Assurance Engineering leads the group responsible for the design, development, and execution of software testing. He/she is expected to be highly skilled and proficient in the theoretical and practical application of specialized knowledge related to programming and software engineering while working independently and without close supervision.
The Director is expected to deliver results and innovation in quality assurance and testing and to innovate to shorten the testing and delivery cycles to production. He/she will be expected to build and lead a new team at AdWorks.
Essential Responsibilities :
Ability to propose a complete test solution for a whole sub-system or part of a large/complex sub-system based on requirements
Ability to estimate the work and technical risks in the project
Expert in coming up with test strategy/test approach for a complex system
Ability to manage managers and Sr. Technology Staff
Ability to drive and review test execution strategy for large parallel development projects
Estimate size / effort / schedule / budget while dealing with ambiguity in master project requirements - making appropriate assumptions about items of major impact.
Raise risks / issues that could hurt delivery
Escalations to next level or higher engineering management made in a responsible manner
Strong exposure to various testing tools.
Expert in automating the test plans.
Expert with experience in building and running test harnesses for database, interfaces and presentation oriented applications.
Effective resource planning for team
Effective change management in project(s) arising due to external dependencies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Senior-level staff members are expected to mentor junior staff, provide technical guidance for 5-10 people and demonstrate leadership skills.
Qualifications:
BS Computer Science required or related engineering field.
Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in web and application technologies
High level of proficiency in basic computer skills with a passion for technology
A commitment to continuing education to strengthen skills and broaden expertise
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
Dedicated to achieving project schedules and milestones
Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities while staying a team player
Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Self starter able to work with minimal supervision
