Blood Drive Team Supervisor
Come bring your regulatory compliance and leadership experience to support the life saving mission of the American Red Cross Blood Services.
The position will be supervising blood drive staff and operations to ensure compliance of regulated procedures and quality of service to our volunteer blood donors.
Previous Red Cross and/ or medical experience is strongly preferred.
Job Summary: Create a team environment and provide leadership needed to maintain premiere donor care, customer safety and satisfaction during the blood collection process. Demonstrate excellence in customer service and public relations to promote a positive, professional image of the American Red Cross Biomedical Services. Work independently with attention to detail and full knowledge of all aspects of the daily collection process. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations. Major Responsibilities: Comply with all CFR, Blood Services Directives, RSP, Blood Services Letters, Local Operating Procedures and Exposure Control Plan policies and procedures as well as all Red Cross philosophies, structures, policies and procedures. Supervise staff including hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline to ensure a well-qualified team and enhance operational success. Supervise staff to ensure appropriate donor care and the collection of safe units of blood. Plan, organize, manage and direct all aspects of blood and/or apheresis collection operations (fixed site or mobile) to ensure appropriate staffing and a smooth and efficient process. Ensure SQUIPP of all products collected under supervision. Perform clerical administrative functions to provide documentation and ensure donor/recipient safety and to monitor staff competency. Perform all technical phases of collection procedures in accordance with operator's manual, local operating procedures, BSDs and CFR to ensure product/donor safety and compliance. Ensure effective customer service to promote positive, professional image of the ARCBS at all times. May assist in writing, organizing and maintaining technical sections of departmental manuals. Share and communicate responsibilities to recruit and re-recruit. Operate ARC vehicles in compliance with regulations. Complete extensive standardized training and demonstrate competency to perform each job function and commit to perform only those tasks for which documented training has been completed. Perform other related duties as necessary. Scope: Responsible for supervision of five to twenty line staff on a daily basis. Provide and document performance feedback for any staff assigned to current operation. Manage line staff frequently assigned to other operations. Must balance production, customer service and compliance on a daily basis, ensuring integrity of operation. As integral link between donor and ARCBS, employee must portray a commitment to customer service by conveying and demonstrating a consistent style of professionalism.
