POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for Continuous Improvement activities, programs and teams for Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems Kentucky facilities. The focus of this position will be the application of Meggitt Business System (MBS) continuous improvement tools, project management skills and problem solving techniques, through the MABS Supply chain in order to obtain "best-in-class" levels of execution. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will train team members in the use of continuous improvement tools; Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma and demand pull based process improvements. Additionally, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator will lead and facilitate CI Teams to achieve MABSKY process and business objectives.
This position requires interfacing with peers from all other functional organizations within the enterprise, individually or within a cross-functional team format, senior management and supplier representatives.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required.  The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will:(essential skills and responsibilities)
* Implement 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause identification / Problem solving and Visual Factory applications.
* Illustrate a strong demonstration of problem-solving skills, excellent personal /  team organizational skills, and effective time management.
* Demonstrated ability to work with the functions within the organization that impact the business and assist them with continuous improvement initiatives.
* Create a structured capturing of the "Voice of the Customer"  and management of activities associated with improving Customer Satisfaction.
* Have knowledge of general monitoring and measuring of business related Key Process Indicator metrics to drive the business toward improvement in the areas of Production Assembly and Supply Chain Management.
* Experience with SAP or other ERP Systems would be a plus.
* Familiarity with aerospace / FAA regulatory requirements such as EASA / FAR part 21 and 145, AS9100, AS9120 would also be a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
The candidate should have a minimum of five years' experience preferably within aerospace or automotive industries or high technology / small batch product design / manufacturing and Supply Chain environment.   
* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering or related field is preferable; equivalent experience will be considered.
* The individual must have effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and strong analytical/problem solving skills.  Good computer skills, including utilization of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point are also required.  6-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
