Job Description . Leads the Proposal Development team, including assigning proposal duties, hiring, personnel issues, and budgets
. Makes assignments and balances workloads across multiple proposal efforts, managing and mentoring a team of proposal managers, coordinators, and authors
. Manages high visibility proposals
. Possess an in-depth understanding for the federal procurement cycle and commercial sector cycle and the implications for market, sell, staff and deliver activities into direct proposal preparation and submission
. Will manage direct reports and lead multiple, different sized proposal efforts and ensures consulting practice areas and technology practice areas solution products are fully integrated
. Will successfully expand capabilities/knowledge/skills with business units, practice areas, and employee base as the SME for procurements and proposals
. Ensures submissions comply with RFP instructions, client needs and delivered on time
. Works with business units, SMEs, and proposal staff for resourcing integrated teams and facilitates planning, storyboarding and developing an effective customer-focused proposal
. Collaborates with business unit general managers to plan for upcoming solicitations
. Works with capture teams to support pre-proposal activities, i.e. strategic planning, solution development, and drafting themes
. Manages, coordinates, supports the schedule, proposal content, and strategy; provides insight and guidance to authors on content, graphics development, desktop publishing and ensures proposals are ready for color team reviews and final delivery thru either traditional methods or electronic submission
. Acts as author as needed, responsible for production, quality controls, and process improvements
. Will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and upgrading executive and internal communications and RFB content from others.
. Will respond to inquiries from internal executives and associates, as well as outside organizations, representing SOSi in a professional and clearly communicated manner
Minimum Requirements . Candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; US citizenship required
. Bachelor's degree in business required, Master's degree preferred
. Minimum 10 years of progressive proposal and business development experience
. Minimum 5 years of direct personnel management experience, performing performance evaluations and resolving personnel issues
. Experience in development and enforcement of processes and procedures regarding proposal process, proposal security management and proposal material archiving
. Established success at writing, managing, producing, leading teams in winning small and large-scale proposals
. Knowledge and ability to use standard English writing styles, graphic tools, and desktop publishing to develop proposals structure, content, and messaging so they are easily readable, compliant, understandable, and compelling to clients
. Expert analytical, organizational, facilitation and collaborative management skills to identify correct data for full compliance with the RFPs and client requirements, conduct meetings, and balancing multiple deadlines
. Strong interpersonal and communication skills interacting with all levels of the firm
. Ability to direct team efforts supporting business units beyond normal business hours in order to accomplish multiple proposal submissions
. Possess the initiative, organization, stamina, attention to detail, flexibility, sense of humor and ability to forecast resource requirements to produce and manage winning proposals

. Ability to lift and/or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs
. Work environment is often stressful and detail oriented as it is a timeline driven department with set objectives and hard due dates
. Department often works non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary
