Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of URS Corporation, is seeking a Design Services Electrical Engineering 2014 Summer Intern to be based at our DOE site outside of Aiken, SC.

Typical Responsibilities:
Provide support to Savannah River Remediation (SRR) as a Student Summer Intern Limited Service Employee (LSE) on the Savannah River Site (SRS), a US Department of Energy (DOE) facility in western South Carolina.

The intern will perform meaningful work with guidance provided in accordance with SRR processes and procedures. Interns will prepare and present a final project to the SRR management team summarizing conclusions about the experience, impacts delivered and relevance for their future career.

Assignment will be in the SRR Design Services Electrical Design group. Engineering support services to include engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to Short Circuit Analysis, Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and Circuit Protection Coordination, development of Single Line Drawings, Electrical Equipment Lists, Electrical Equipment Specifications, Bulk Material Specifications as well as Control System Design, Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design and Grounding. The intern will be working in conjunction with experienced Electrical Engineers to help mentor his/her development.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited 4 year college or university and seeking a Bachelors or Masters degree majoring in Electrical Engineering with the intent to attend the subsequent term as a full-time student.
Must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours prior to the start of the internship in the summer of 2014.
Must have a valid Drivers License, registration and proof of auto insurance.
2.5 GPA or above
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Additional Information:
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Must be able to pass General Employment Training (GET).
Qualified applicants must complete and clear application screening for government site access.
Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
40 hour work week is set and scheduled by the individual departments.
Shift work and overtime will not be available.
