Manager (Quality Improvement)
The Manager of Quality Improvement (QIM) provides operational and hands on project management to coordinate all aspects of quality, risk management, compliance, assessment and continuing education specific to the Student Health Center (SHC). This position has no permanent supervisory duties but may on occasion supervise a student worker. Twenty percent of this position works with LSU Risk Management (RM) to consult and further develop cost containment and Return to Work (RTW) program for worker's compensation claims.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Health Information Systems or related field of study; three years of experience in an ambulatory clinic healthcare setting with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system; one year of Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement or Risk Management experience in health care; proficiency in MS Office applications including strong working knowledge of Excel data tabulation and report creation. Additional Qualifications Desired: Master's degree; one year experience in statistical analysis OR successful completion of basic statistics coursework; experience managing projects; certification in Health Care Information Systems, MGMA Practice, Quality Management Professional or Healthcare Risk Management; experience coordinating AAAHC and/or SACS accreditation process; experience planning and coordinating continuing education for health care staff. Special Requirements: This position may require long periods of sitting, standing and computer use; possibility of exposure to blood-borne pathogens if working or observing in the clinic; the successful candidate must have mental and physical stamina and flexibility to meet the demands of a busy health center; must demonstrate exceptional customer service at all times. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
