Large Retail Corporation located in NYC needs:
Director, Master Data Management
Merchandising/ retail systems are highly preferred
Responsibllities:
leading data strategy initiatives and to design and implement data management solutions.
work with IS and business partners to design and develop information solutions that maximize the usage of master data (i.e. Product, Location, Customer, etc.).
These solutions will create centralized repositories of data that are shared as much as possible across applications and business units for conducting business off of a single source.
This enables business growth through improved data quality / completeness and simplified data management.
end-to-end solution design of MDM information capabilities to support business initiatives such as the Global Planning Initiative, CRM, and Supply Chain Analytics.
Additionally, the Director, MDM is responsible for the design of the underlying MDM architecture and spearheading a governance program pertaining to master data.
Lead a team to design and implement high quality master data management (MDM) solutions
Partner with IS and business teams to evangelize and drive usage / compliance of MDM solution
Manage client expectations, establish credibility at all levels within the client and build problem-solving partnerships with the client and colleagues
Communicate technical architecture direction and coordinate technical proof of concept analyses
Conduct data profiling and quality analysis for a large size and complex environments
Provide gap analyses from a technical perspective, highlighting current state, future state, client needs, best practices, and solution offerings
Develop the methodology required to move from current state to future state architecture
Assist in solving technical and performance problems within the technical infrastructure
Facilitate sessions with IS and business stakeholders to understand and define business requirements, data capturing and analysis, and business rule identification
Engage in software evaluations from a data management, measurement and monitoring perspective
Create data governance strategies and administration programs
Deploy recommendations / roadmap and operationalize data governance
Identify new services opportunities within customer base
Requirements:
10+ years of computer systems analysis, consulting, and IT management experience, preferably in large-scale business software implementation projects (ERP, CRM, SCM, EDW and third party Data Warehouse solutions)
3+ years managing system projects
Master Data Hub Architecture, data design and implementation vExperience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management and Data Architecture Standardization
Metadata management, design and integration
Experience developing conceptual and physical solution architectures for solutions incorporating heterogeneous applications, technologies and platforms
Thorough understanding of data modeling, physical schema properties, triggers, and stored procedures
Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional data standardization requirements
Ability to resolve complex issues relate to enterprise wide data architecture concerns
Management style that exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation
Effective in matrix management and team building
Ability to facilitate discussions and drive toward quick decisions
Strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills
ETL skills – Data Stage, Data Profiling, Data Quality
Retail experience preferred
SAP knowledge a plus
Business Interaction
Strong communications and managing business expectations is required.
Ability to collaborate with business and IS leaders to develop recommendations and solutions is required.
