Doherty Enterprises, Inc. has an outstanding opportunity for a results and detail oriented, self starter as the Director of Human Resources.   Reporting the Vice President of Human Resources & Training and based in our Allendale, New Jersey Support Center, this position plays a key leadership role by overseeing the day to day operation of the Human Resources department.   The Human Resources Director oversees the creation, implementation and daily execution of Human Resources systems, employee relations, benefits design and administration, and regulatory compliance to maintain a high performance culture that emphasizes integrity, passion for service, quality, productivity and professional development.

Required Skills & Abilities:


·         Expert  knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations and their administration and application

·         Expertise in education and administration of  FMLA, Workers Compensation, ADA,  and other associated programs

·         Proficiency in design and administration of Compensation and Benefit programs, 401k, and Deferred Compensation

·         Exceptional ability to identify and cultivate talent, including team building and performance management

·         Expertise in policy development, implementation and administration

·         Ability to communicate effectively and influence all levels within the organization

·         Preference for working in a fast paced environment with multiple competing demands with a strong sense of urgency

·         Excellent planning and organization skills with an attention to detail

·         Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills

·         Resourceful with exceptional problem solving and decision making skills with a flair for process improvement and innovation

·         Self started with a strong results orientation

·         Ability to manage conflict and promote a collaborative environment

·         Demonstrated Change Management skills

·         Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office Suite of products

·         Bi-lingual a plus


·         Experience leading the HR function in a multi site location environment in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industry

·         Experience managing all aspects of the HR function including compensation, benefits and risk management

·         Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Human Resources or Business; Masters Degree and/or SPHR certification preferred

·         Demonstrated leadership by managing others in a direct reporting relationship

·         Experience leading/supporting an organization with 5,000+ employees in multiple sites strongly preferred


Required Travel:

·         Overnight travel to attend meetings and visit out state territory-approximately 10-15% annually.

·         Day travel throughout operating territory in New Jersey and New York – approximately 15-20% monthly (requires reimbursed use of personal vehicle)

Salary Range:

$85,000-100,000 plus annual bonus opportunity and benefits
