Director of Safety
Publicly traded manufacturer of regulated (FDA) ingestible consumer packaged goods located in Long Island, NY seeks seasoned Safety professional to oversee safety and accident prevention in multiple facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associate Safety and Accident Prevention - reducing frequency of associates' lost time due to accidents.
Internal Audit of Associate Injury and Occupational Disease exposures.
Analysis of Cause and Corrective Action for work-related accidents
Establishment and support of local Safety Committees
Safety related training initiatives
Serve as initial, primary Company representative interfacing with government agency representatives on issues of Safety Compliance.
Certification of Company vehicle driver eligibility
Provide consultation support to our Worker’s Compensation Administration group and related Legal Department activities.
Develop, sponsor and justify all capital improvement projects, Purchasing expenditures and lease recommendations for equipment needed to enhance the Safety and Security of associates in North America.
Requirements include:
A. Extensive professional experience leading the Safety function of a substantial (1,000+ associate), multi-facility Manufacturing organization in the U.S.A.
B. Background in Safety issues relevant to a Warehouse/Distribution environment.
C. Demonstrated familiarity with the processes and machinery required for the high-volume production of nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and/or other ingestible items such as food, drinks, powdered mixes, etc.
