The Director of SEC Reporting is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and executing all external financial reporting processes and initiatives. This individual is also responsible for identifying and driving reporting and controls improvement opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Manage the entire SEC reporting process including SEC document preparation, data analysis, integrity, and filing submission
· Oversee all information included in the 10K, 10Q and Earnings Release
· Oversee all other company filings (i.e. statutory and 401K reports)
· Advise the general ledger accounting team in the generation and preparation of information required in external reports
· Develop and manage XBRL reporting
· Monitor and revise policies and procedures as needed to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over external financial reporting
· Evaluate new accounting rules and SEC regulations to assess impact on the financial reporting process
· Prepare complex technical accounting memorandums
· Meet strict deadlines
· Interact well with senior level management and coordinate effectively with support departments (i.e. internal and external counsel, finance, and internal and external auditors)
MINIMUM EDUCATION: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting
· Master's degree in Accounting, preferred
· CPA
EXPERIENCE: · 8+ years of practical accounting experience, including relevant experience with a publicly traded company in a similar SEC reporting role
· 5+ years of Big 4 auditing experience is preferable
· Proficient in financial statement preparation and SEC reporting
· High level of expertise and up-to-date familiarity in SEC reporting rules and regulations and US GAAP standards
· XBRL experience is highly preferred
· Strong management level experience
