Our client is looking to hire a seasoned R&D leader who has:
>personally hired and built an R&D team
>lead a New Product Development and Innovation teams
>understands and has lead the Innovation process
Essential experiences include:
1. Benchmarks and identifies new product and market opportunities. Analyzes and selects new business opportunities in concert with manufacturing and marketing management. Formulates R&D goals and objectives.
2. Determines and develops breakthrough product design, technologies, systems and processes that create solutions for customers’ unmet needs and divisional growth.
3. Supervises and develops engineering staff to achieve established goals. Assists in the creation of technology road maps that focus engineering resources on high potential growth markets.
4. Serves as the liaison expert of technology vision with the Division’s technical engineering, e.g., new products, development schedules, etc.
5. Develops collaborative partnerships within the parent company, as well as external institutions and manufacturers, for development of technologically relevant systems solutions.
6. Provides expertise relative to technology, government, government regulations and customer needs as they relate to future-state products. Recommends capital investments and process improvement projects to Division.
7. Assists in the development and management of the execution of breakthrough strategies related to innovative product development and profitable commercialization with impact on profitable Division growth.
8. Works with Groups and divisions to develop and maintain new product development portfolios that align with Group and Division growth objectives. Liaisons Division’s visions with Corporate and Groups’ knowledge-sharing and project collaboration.
9. Collaborates with Corporate, Group and Division business teas, suppliers, and potential customers to develop a market-driven business model that anticipates the needs of the customer and provide Parker with first mover advantage in growth markets.
10. Interface with customers, salesmen and other divisional, group and corporate personnel to resolve technical matters dealing with product design and new product.
11. Formulate R&D goals and objectives to support divisional growth objectives.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Masters Degree in a technical field
- 5+ years managing R&D.
- 8+ years working as an engineer.
- 5+ years manufacturing experience
- 5+ years leading a product development team.
- 5+ years with direct customer contact helping to identify needs and developing solutions.
- 10+ years in product design.
- 3+ years designing fluid and gas system components
- A minimum of four experiences taking a project from concept to production.
- Have a track record of bringing new products and parts on line within quoted budgets.
- 5+years working for a manufacturer of controls and valves.
- 5+ years managing a group of at least three people.
- One experience setting up a small department.
5+ years working in a large company with multiple locations and engineering centers.
