The Documentation Specialist is responsible for effectively obtaining and following up on documentation required for products and services to be rendered to patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Identifying and requesting documents as needed for products and services.
*Effective follow-up on outstanding documentation.
*Managing documents in queue.
*Updating computer system as required for documentation tracking, service delivery, etc.
*Scanning original documents into the computer system and attach to appropriate patient record.
*Coordinating and completing documentation mailings as necessary.
*Ordering DME items from lab(s) as appropriate/required; includes requesting documentation and managing through pipeline.
*Updating managers with feedback from customers to improve services or provide recognition of staff members.
*Other duties and tasks as assigned.
To qualify for this role the individual must:
*Have a minimum of an Associate's Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
*Have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
*Be highly organized, have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable and effective working with both custom and "off the shelf" computer applications.
*Be self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
*Be a creative problem solver and develop ethical, professional solutions for finding information, developing effective communication strategies and relationships.
