Job Description

Commissioning and Testing Services provides commissioning and testing, contract management and inspection, and specialty services for new and upgraded electrical facilities on the transmission network. Commissioning and Testing Services include design and constructability review, construction work coordination, outage planning and coordination, as-built updates to project drawings, releasing electrical facilities to operational status and record updates for plant accounting. Communication Test and Energization provides start-up and commissioning of substation and control center communication facilities, which includes radios (microwave, Ultra High Frequency, and Very High Frequency), multiplex equipment, transfer trip, RAS, SCADA, event recorders, telephone systems and fiber optic systems. This position does involve 100% travel. Responsibilities: ' Provide technical support to construction, Test & Energization, operations and maintenance personnel. ' Provide technical support for testing and test documentation. ' Review engineering designs to ensure they conform to existing policies and standards for installation of communications and fiber optic systems. ' Prepare accurate 'as built' drawings for communications and fiber optic systems. ' Prepare fiber optic system test summary reports for maintenance personnel. ' Associates Degree in engineering technology, mathematics, computer science, engineering technician, or related field is required ' This is an entry-level position requiring .5 to 4+ years of experience. ' Working knowledge of MS Office Suite; Outlook, Excel and Word required ' MS Office 2010 proficiency required. Additional ' Possess a valid driver's license ' Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification ' Act as a team player; consistently model outstanding customer service skills, with demonstrated willingness to go the extra mile. ' Transmit information effectively, with ability to present and describe issues clearly and concisely. ' Be self-directed, punctual and have an excellent attendance record. ' This program demands a professional staff which travels a good deal of the time; this position will be expected to work effectively with minimal interaction & direction.
