* Knowledge of electrical engineering discipline and flight hardware / sounding rocket experience * Knowledge of the principles of electrical design and design of telemetry and related instrumentation systems and the ability to develop associated design documentation * Knowledge of special purpose circuits to monitor vehicle or payload events or to perform in-flight functions as well as understanding external and internal power sources, power switching and regulation, timing, harnesses, and associated components * Experience and operational proficiency with electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, multi-meters, etc. * Knowledge of fundamental object oriented programming principles of inheritance and polymorphism * Experience and operational proficiency using Microsoft Visual Studio to implement Plugin architechures in C# * Experience in developing applications that interface to electronic equipment using the following standards: IEEE-488(GPIB),Serial, and USB * Training or certification in the following may be required: * Electrostatic Discharge ESD Control per GPR 8730.6 * Mate/Demate per NASA-STD-8739.4 * General Safety Awareness * Operations Safety Supervisor per GSFC/WFF 800-PG-8715.0.4 Job Description:
* Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, and systems applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering * Develop applications of controls, instruments, and systems for sounding rockets and of operational procedures and practices as they apply to sub-orbital rockets * May be responsible for technical, cost, and schedule requirements of projects, design, development, internal / external customer design reviews, and technical documentation * Responsible for management of assigned electrical engineering assignments * May serve as lead electrical engineer for SR missions * Design electronic and electrical systems; assist in developing component and TM system standards and testing /qualification techniques * Analyze, design, and develop solutions to sounding rocket telemetry and power control systems * Participate in technical design/modification negotiations with customers and experimenters * Design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze new and advance projects; * Participate in reviews: Requirement, Design Reviews, and Mission Readiness * Programming and computer application skills such as LabVIEW/Windows, C, C++, C#, OrCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visual Studio, and MATLAB are required * Develop Applications for configuring ground station equipment such as bit synchronizers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc. Qualifications:
