The Field Service Representative (FSR) will perform installation and startup of Filtration, Softening, chemical feed. De-Oxygenation, Reverse Osmosis, UV, Electro deionization, Demineralization and other customized water purification equipment and applications. They will also provide support of Mobile Water and B.O.O. (Build, Own, and Operate) field operation and maintenance.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will:

  • Lead on-site project management (start-up and commissioning), troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Consult with Project Manager, customer management and technical counterparts including communications with other FSRs, Field managers, Environmental Health and Safety, sales, engineering, logistics, outside contractors and plant operators regarding scheduling, operations, and equipment
  • Document equipment startup, issues and update system documents and drawings. Follow and update Forms, work instructions, Short Duration Safety Plan, Site safety assessment
  • Develop and conduct Customer training
  • Work with PLC controls, understands water process treatment design, and repairs pumps, maintenance, calibrations, instruments and control panels
  • Write work procedures, Job Safety Analysis, maintenance / repair schedules
  • Ensure compliance of Deliverables, including volume and quality per the customers contract specifications
  • Clean In Place, chemical handling, PVC repair, cut / glue up to, but not limited to 6' PVC, valve change outs, backwashing, air scrubbing, sluicing, chemical drum / tote change outs, filter bag and cartridge filter replacements, RO membrane replacements, basic electrical troubleshooting, etc.
  • Perform water analysis and collect samples for preparation, labeling and shipment to designated laboratory for analysis
  • Maintain monthly reports (charts / graphs), monthly Safety audits, daily and/or weekly reports
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts. Must have the ability to track usage, anticipate peek needs and balance inventory levels including inventory reconciliation and reordering
  • Perform B.O.O. (Build, Own, and Operate) field operation and maintenance of Filtration, Softening, De-Oxygenation, Reverse Osmosis, UV, Electro deionization, Demineralization and other customized water purification equipment and applications

    Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent to High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the water industry or in a related field OR minimum of 4 years training (college, military, vocational / technical school)

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to proficiently use Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Ability and willingness to learn company and site specific computer applications
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability and willingness frequent lifting and other manual work
  • Ability and willingness to be on Call, with 24/7 immediate response 365 days/year
  • Ability to gain access to a Nuclear power facility (where applicable)
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a GE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Field Service experience in Water or related field
  • College or Technical / Trade School Degree in Engineering / Technical field and / or equivalent work experience in the industry
