Your job:
Head of the Optronic Systems department within Corporate Research and Technology at the Jena and Oberkochen sites (office is in Jena)
Lead, motivate and coach the staff
Resource planning and coordination with project managers, department heads and application managers
Design and regularly optimize the department’s strategic and technical orientation
Contribute own professional expertise to radars and projects
Develop, expand and maintain internal and external relationships and partnerships
Requirements:
Outstanding performance in studies in natural sciences or engineering; ideally with a doctorate
At least five years’ relevant professional experience in the high-tech industry with a proven record of success in promoting innovations
At least two years' of managerial experience as team leader or in a comparable role
Intercultural expertise gained abroad desirable
Practical know-how in at least one of the following fields relevant to Carl Zeiss: consumer and or security optronics, biomedical imaging, industrial metrology
Extensive knowledge in at least one of the following technological fields essential: visualisation systems, miniaturised optoelectronic/optomechanical systems, electronic signal processing in particular using FPGAs
Excellent knowledge of SAP, MS Office, Lotus Notes
Good, business-level command of English
Well-developed strategic way of thinking, organizational and communication skills
Excellent initiative, goal-oriented working style and implementation capabilities
