Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Real Estate & Facilities, this executive will serve as the organization's global leader for building engineering and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) functions with an emphasis on deploying emerging energy technologies, global facilities efficiencies and project management across the global site footprint. This leader will provide oversight and support to global facilities staff and partner closely with other key company executives to ensure the most efficient operation and maintenance of all building operations and equipment. The Head of Global Building Engineering & Maintenance will lead the emergency/outage response process across all facilities (including the global headquarters), and manage our cost structure/efficiencies across the global facilities portfolio.

Our Head of Global Building Engineering & Maintenance will be responsible for:
Capital Planning
  • Prepare and manage annual capital plan for building systems and facilities with all necessary details (estimated costs, project dependencies, proposed schedules, priority and risk/ramifications if work is not performed, etc.)
  • Oversee the project management/implementation of the global facilities plan, ensuring adherence to deadlines and spend requirements.
Facility Evaluations and Due Diligence
  • Perform expert site due diligence for new locations and acquisition properties
  • Secure necessary project bids and provide cost estimates as a member of the global site selection/diligence team (serving as the company SME for building/facility aspects of the site selection process)
Energy Design and Engineering
  • Track and stay current on emerging technologies related to low energy building design
  • Proactively provide innovative technical solutions for the cost effective operation of facilities and data center operations
  • Perform detailed energy, daylight, thermal comfort and life-cycle cost analysis of building designs
  • Document carbon footprints for existing building(s) and project carbon footprint information for new construction
  • Generate strategies to reduce carbon footprint for both new and existing construction
  • Work with design teams on Net Zero Energy goals
  • Provide LEED and sustainable design consulting services for new and existing building projects
Maintenance
  • Ensure the effective maintenance and operation of all building systems through direct management and partnerships of global Facilities staff and any outside contractors
  • Ensure all critical equipment is running properly and ready for any emergency situation at all times
  • Provide direction to Facilities staff on repairs, maintenance and related costs
Staffing
  • Manage and direct building engineering/maintenance teams to ensure a best-in-class employee experience for occupants of TeleTech facilities
  • Oversee and direct the effective management of outside vendors
  • Ensure adherence to schedules and integrity of reported KPI's data
  • Ensure effective round the clock staff coverage at all locations including knowledgeable staff coverage at all critical data center locations
  • Vendor Management
  • Develop product specifications and supplier sources for materials as required
  • Ensure proper bid procedures are followed within company policy
  • Ensure the best prices for commodities are being obtained through the bidding process
  • Ensure service contractors are performing work properly and effectively

Other Specifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10 to 15 years experience in building engineering/maintenance leadership role over multiple sites across the globe
  • Developed and managed data center mission critical environments (N 1 or greater)
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, chemical and architectural engineering skills with a detailed understanding of regulatory requirements across global geographies
  • Experience with energy management systems hardware and software including the ability to integrate and develop more efficient and cost effective solutions
  • Familiarity and experience with renewable energy technologies, system designs and their applications. Strong analytical skills for assessing feasibility of new technologies
  • Exceptional communication skills, positive approach to job, and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • LEED Accreditation or ability to become accredited within 6 months of hire date, if necessary
  • Excellent project management skills to deliver successful outcomes across multiple global projects; demonstrated ability to ensure adherence to time deadlines and budget forecasts.
