American Hospice is currently seeking experienced office professionals to fill the following position: Hospice Billing & Collection Specialist (2) These positions will be located in Jacksonville, FL. Position Summary: American Hospice is seeking assertive, detail oriented professionals to maintain responsibility for monthly billing and collections for hospice accounts receivable. The Billing & Collection Specialists will be responsible for the analysis of the patient financial assessments, commercial insurance authorizations and benefits, rate negotiations with patients and non-contracted pay sources, and will work closely with local hospice personnel to coordinate and resolve billing issues with Medicaid and other hospice providers. These competent and experienced health care professionals will be based in Jacksonville and should exhibit behaviors of accountability, flexibility, respect, and collaboration to help American Hospice fulfill its common purpose of creating a compassionate circle of support for our patients and families by providing the finest, individualized end-of-life care. All team members are expected to have well developed customer service skills and must demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy of Hospice Care for the terminally ill. Position Qualifications: High school diploma 3+ years of relevant experience Broad understanding of healthcare payment systems including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. Detail oriented with a desire to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment and a proven work ethic. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated active listening proficiency. Must demonstrate independence as a team member with the ability to work collaboratively with all American Hospice locations and operations. Must possess excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up. Highly developed technical and communication skills: proficiency with telephone and computer equipment, computer and application software including Microsoft Office suite. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability insurance, or access to reliable transportation.
