Job Duties As a Denny’s employee your job duties include, but will not be limited to: Server: Greets and seats customers in a friendly and courteous manner, takes and delivers orders, suggestively sells, receives payment and assists other service personnel as needed to provide total customer satisfaction. Responds to and addresses guests concerns. Cook: Prepares, cooks and presents food to order following company menu, food specifications, and timing standards. Adheres to all federal, state, and local safe food handling regulations. Cooks must be 18 years of age. Host or Hostess: Greets and seats customers in a friendly and courteous manner, receives payment, and assists other service personnel as needed to provide total customer satisfaction. Responds to and addresses guests concerns. Service Assistant: Maintains the restaurant’s interior and exterior keeping all areas clean and organized. Keeps dining room tables cleaned and sanitized. Maintains an adequate supply of clean pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils and ice in service areas throughout shift. Dress Code and Personal Grooming Standards: Employees must be in proper uniform at all times while working at Denny’s. In addition to the Denny’s uniform, all employees must observe Denny’s grooming and cleanliness standards. Every employee must bathe daily and use a deodorant to control body odor. Employees shall use only mild perfumes or colognes that will not interfere with the aroma of food. Employees shall wear clean slip resistant closed-toe shoes, and clean clothing (uniforms and aprons). As a Denny’s employee you will be required to: * Wash hands thoroughly (using a nailbrush) before beginning work, after visiting the restroom, returning from a break, or after cleaning up a mess or spill. * Wear only one ring per hand (or wedding band/engagement ring set). Gloves must be worn if ring has stones or crevices. * Wear hair restraints such as a hair net, beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair and that are designed and worn to keep hair from contacting exposed food and food contact surfaces. * Trim/file fingernails to less than 1/8 inch past the fingertip to make them smooth and easy to clean. Unless wearing intact gloves in good repair, a food employee may not wear fingernail polish or artificial fingernails, when working with exposed food. * Refrain from chewing gum. * Refrain from smoking unless in the designated area and wash hands afterward.
