Job Summary: Technical assistant works under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, and the direction of other staff technologists to assure efficient and safe workflow processes. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, prepping, transporting and transferring patients for imaging exams; responsible for setting up rooms and assisting the technologist and physicians with patient exams and patient care. May perform all ancillary functions including but not limited to: performing data entry, revising or completing exams in HBOC; scanning documents into HMI/PACS and performing clerical PACS functions; answers telephone changes linen; stocks and organizes inventory. Imaging Aides arenotallowed to operate, use or manipulate any patient care equipment including scanners, injectors or any other clinical equipment that requires specialized licensure, education or CBE. Knowledge and Skills Required: Familiarity with medical terminology preferred Ability to type 20 wpm
Education and Experience Required: High school diploma
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required: BLS/Healthcare provider must be obtained and maintained throughout employment
Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job: Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and ability to assist with lifting and transferring patients up to 400 lbs for approximately 50 percent of work time Ability to wear respirator in exposure situations and according to department specific protocols
