Our National Security Global Business is currently seeking an Incident Response Blue Team Specialist . This position is located in Columbus, OH or the National Capitol Region.
The Office of the CISO for Battelle has an immediate opening for a Blue Team Specialist. Battelle's Network Watch actively and passively protects our networks, our data, our customer's data, and provides analysis of intrusion attempts or other incidents. CISO personnel receive frequent training packages to ensure they are aware and prepared to counter current threat.

Job Description
The Blue Team Specialist performs technical measures to assess policy compliance and security posture for the global Battelle networks. This person will report directly to the CISO and will have the ability to draw on external support (from other Battelle organizations as well as habitual teams and contractors) and lead the periodic self assessments to assure Battelle's network security. Minimal travel (< 10%) is required. This position is located in either Columbus, OH; or the National Capitol Region.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform periodic scans of the Battelle global networks. These should be detailed in nature, and will be primarily driving by scanning tools, although the Specialist may develop custom code as desired.
· Scan both normally connected networks and subnets, and also special networks with non-standard connection requirements. Scan lab, developmental, administrative, and production networks.
· Perform post scan analysis to characterize the Battelle network posture, and identify areas of strength and areas for improvement.
· Work closely with the policy cell to create (as needed) relevant policy updates to protect the network.
· Work closely with the enforcement cell to highlight deviations from accepted practice and turn them on correcting the situation.
· Assist Battelle University (a corporate training office) in developing computer security training and social engineering mitigation training by being a subject matter expert resource for them, and to direct some of their thoughts and ideas in the creation of new courses.
· As needed, interact with external organizations and other Battelle assets to perform scans or to respond to threats.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Must have an active Secret Clearance, or have one within 6 months of hire to the position.
· Must have at least 4 years experience conducting network assessments in a Blue Team capacity.
· Must have either a Bachelor's Degree related to network security, or have 6 years network security experience
· Must have strong oral and written communications skills.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Willingness and ability to become TS/SCI cleared.
· Strong social engineering background / understanding.
· Demonstrated ability to manage assessment projects (in rare cases the person may be called on to lead an assessment that brings in several external resources)
· (strongly desired) Experience with large networks (> 100,000 nodes).
