KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Under minimal supervision, helps establish and validate mechanistic and functional cell based studies for evaluating novel therapeutic targets. 2. Independently designs and utilizes novel in vivo xenograft and allograft models. 3. Doses animals and analyzes the outcome of pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and efficacy studies. 4. Performs survival and non-survival animal surgeries for specimen collection and characterization. 5. Utilizes non-invasive imaging. 6. Assists in utilization of in vivo models. 7. Contributes to project team.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, enzymology, pharmacology, chemistry or related field from an accredited university Preferred: Masters degree in one of the sciences.
EXPERIENCE
Required: With Bachelor's degree, three years of relevant research experience in lab. With Master's degree, at least one year of same experience. Preferred: 1. In vivo pharmacology experience including animal handling, dosing, and conducting drug PK/PD and efficacy studies with mice is required. 2. Experience with in vivo models including subcutaneous and orthotopic xenografts or genetically engineered models of cancer. 3. Experience maintaining cell lines in tissue culture, preparing reagents and dosing solutions. 4. Hands-on experience administering test agents by gavage or intravenous and intraperitoneal injections required. 5. Ability to perform tumor measurements is essential. 6. Must have prior experience with minor animal survival and non-survival surgery for specimen collection and characterization. 7. Experience with in vivo imaging modalities and the evaluation of tissues and biological fluids for molecular and/or biochemical endpoints are desired. 8. The position requires a highly self-motivated individual, with outstanding organizational skills, the ability to effectively present results and conclusions to co-workers, collaborators and manager. Ability to work well under pressure and drive personal and team objectives that impact critical timelines is expected. A collaborative attitude is essential for this position.
