SUMMARY
The Institute Associate Scientist III, Molecular Sequencing, will be responsible for the execution of cancer genome characterization experiments, including but not limited by Next Generation Sequencing.

KEY FUNCTIONS
1. Execute standard operating procedures. Suggest improvements and alternative approaches. 2. Under minimal supervision run NGS and EA experiments in a timely fashion. 3. Responsible for quality controls and analysis of the outcome data quality. 4. Working in a team environment to identify key genetic/epigenetic features in the samples profiled. 5. Hands-on research towards efficiency improvements, new instrumentation, and novel techniques is encouraged. 6. Maintain research records and laboratory notes. 7. Responsibility for the safe operation of the lab; interfaces effectively with Laboratory Manager. 8. Interact closely with other research staff across institutional functional teams.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Science or related field from an accredited university Preferred: Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related fields
EXPERIENCE
Required: With B.S. degree, three years of relevant research experience. With preferred degree at least one year of required experience. Preferred: Professional experience in diagnostic/biotech environment driven by SOPs. The successful candidate should be demonstrating solid practical knowledge in molecular biology, specifically qPCR and DNA cloning, as well as computer literacy.
