Job Title - INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN SPECIALIST
Duration - 1 Year (Possible Extension)
City – Chicago
State – Illinois
To provide the on-going creation, continual improvement and delivery of the full spectrum of software and technical training materials for a leading energy firm.
This is a contracted project supporting the installation of enterprise wide workflow software
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Interfaces with Operations, IT, Engineering, Contractors and Management to identify gaps in skills, knowledge and competencies.
2. Researches and provides analysis on complex content.
3. Skilled at translating technical concepts and terms into clear, direct language.
4. Quick learner and multi-tasker comfortable with rapidly changing priorities.
5. Coordinates, reports on and delivers instructional design projects from start to finish.
6. Demonstrates a collaborative, team focus.
7. Facilitates training classes collaboratively with operations leadership.
8. Performs Learning Management System administration and logistics.
9. Designs and produces learning materials in a full variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, visual and multi-media.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. A portfolio of existing work in Instructional Design. Previous success in producing self-guided and instructor lead, and computer-based training materials.
2. Measurable experience in delivering training to a diverse audience. Energy/Utility industry a plus.
3. Proven competency in standard development/authoring tools and courseware such as: MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Lectora, Camtasia and Articulate.
4. Firm knowledge of HTML and CSS.
5. Practiced in using instructional design theories, methods and processes for practical applications.
6. Basic knowledge of adult learning and human performance improvement practices.
7. High energy, engaging facilitator with superb platform skills.
