Responsibilities : Perform various types of Laborer and weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing to repair Above-ground Storage Tanks (ASTs) and/or mechanical piping on Government facilities and industrial sites in accordance with drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction in a safe and efficient manner and assist field management on site with oversight of other Craft Welders and/or Laborers working on assigned project tasks.
Experience : 3 to 5 years of general construction experience and 5 years of experience in API-650, API-653 and AWWA storage tanks and Petrochemical industry (for assignment to Industrial, AST work). Candidates must have 5 years of general pipe welding experience with knowledge of AP 1104 and B31.1 and 1-3 years of shop fabrication experience (for assignment to Industrial, MES work. Must have experience using Personal Protective Equipment. Must be able to travel to out of state work locations for extended periods.
Education Requirements : This position must be a certified welder in the daily repair and construction of API-650, API-653, and AWWA storage tanks; Candidates will require 40 Hour Hazwoper training certification, OSHA 30 Hour Training and certification and Confined Space training and certification. Candidates must have successful completion of carbon steel stick and carbon/stainless steel TIG pipe testing (for assignment to Fuels, MES work.
Other Requirements : Physically capable of working outdoors in hot or cold temperatures. Good hearing and sight. Candidates must successfully pass pre employment drug/background screens and CAPE physical examination and have the ability to use personal protective safety equipment as required. Must be able to travel 100% for extended periods of time.
