Responsibilities: We haves an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Payroll and Benefits with one of our clients located in Toronto Ontario.


Reporting to the Director, HR/Shared Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting the Payroll team. This will include the setting and measurement of individual and team objectives, identification of skills/needs and the organization and or provision of appropriate training to enable the team to make the required contribution to business objectives.



Responsibilities:




Manage, lead and mentor a large team of payroll professionals to obtain maximum efficiencies




Advise and counsel various Managers in employee relation budgets, payroll variance analysis and HR reporting requirements.




Accountable for monthly verification of all payroll and benefit liability accounts.




Assist with annual preparation and monthly reconciliation of the Shared Services budget.



Act as a strategic consultant to understand the needs of the business and deliver effective and efficient payroll and benefit solutions.



ensure payroll and year end processing of 15,000+ employees is administered accurately and on time.




Develop strategic relationship with vendors to leverage existing HR technology.




Ensure HR and Payroll SOX requirements and controls are documented accurately.






Establish and maintain a quality culture within the team. Ensure that documented processes and procedures are understood and followed.




To comply with SOX and Security policies, for the maintenance of confidentiality, integrity and to protect personal data.






Ensure that there are sufficient capable team members at all times to provide the required levels of customer service .




To undertake regular performance reviews and to assist the team in the completion of their Personal Development Plans
Requirements: Requirements:




Degree/diploma in Human Resource/ Business or equivalent complemented by a minimum of 5 years of Technical Human Resource and Payroll experience.





a minimum of 5 years in a Management role

Strong accounting knowledge

Excellent ERP background knowledge and experience

Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to develop and motivate a large dynamic team

Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills

Detail oriented with high standards of excellence

Excellent communication both written and verbal

Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and work well under pressure to meet specific deadlines

Detailed knowledge of legislation impacting Payroll and Human Resources

A positive attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity and empathy

Proven time management skills
