Medical Office Assistant Department: South Cumberland Marketplace Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day Shift Hours: Job Details: Position Summary:Under general supervision, performs receptionist activity and a wide array of clerical duties dealing with registration and discharging of patients, billing and record-keeping. Duties include checking vital signs of patients and assisting physicians with procedures, lab work, and testing. Education:High school graduate with one year college level medical/business office courses/training or the equivalent. Typing of 30 wpm. Basic computer skills. Experience:One year medical/business office employment or the equivalent. Functional knowledge of computers, word processing software and FAX equipment. Experience in phlebotomy and vision testing preferred. Physical Demands/Working Conditions:Manual dexterity to use computer. Good verbal communication skills to deal with the public in a courteous, considerate and confidential manner. Licensure/Certification:CNA certification preferred.
