Mid-Level Game Devloper and 3D Artist/Animator
Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector will be seeking a
Mid-Level Game Developer and 3D Artist/Animator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Suffolk, VA.
We are seeking a talented 3D Artist/Animator with experience using Unity, 3D Studio Max, Flash and Motion Builder to bring hand key framed and motion captured animations into our serious games. We are seeking candidates that are extremely motivated and passionate in everything related to 3D computer graphics and animation. The perfect candidate would be someone current on interactive gaming trends and related innovative technology. The individual needs to have skills in all areas of 3D CG; from model development, rigging, photo real texturing, lighting, animation and rendering.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities of the developer will include, but not be limited to:
- Game storyboard and game development
- Game Instructional System Design development
- Integrate art assets into the content pipeline
- Develop, modify, and maintain rigs, models, and shaders
- Help develop and manage tools and the art asset pipeline
- Develop high quality, life like animations (from motion capture and/or by hand)
- Develop high fidelity, photo real 3D models of characters and objects for serious games
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Proficient in Unity, Flash, 3D StudioMax and MotionBuilder
- Strong animation skills (Facial, Character, and Object) for games and cinematics
- Ability to adapt to new technology, collaborate productively with others, and embrace change
- Solid understanding of game and 3D rendering techniques, shaders and strong storyboard layout skills
- Must have an existing Link to a portfolio/website demonstrating design/development skills, and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of game art and processes to help in the development of workflow schedules and prioritization
- Minimum of two (2) years experience with modeling, texturing, and rigging skills combined with Strong skills in Adobe CS4/CS5 (Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator) required
- Requires a passion for and knowledge of games, experience with the latest and the greatest, ability to speak to what qualities make a great game
Must be a U.S. Citizen to be selected. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Proficient in Unity, 3D StudioMax and MotionBuilder is a plus.
- Experience in developing Virtual Reality environments is a strong plus.
- Strong skills in Adobe CS4/CS5 (Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator) is desirable.
- Experience with scripting languages (Actionscript 2.0/3.0, LUA, Javascript) is a strong plus.
- Creating high quality in-game and cinematic animations using motion capture data also a strong plus.
- Realistic Game animation, facial dialogues with expressions kills a strong plus - keen eye on detail and realism.
