Leading provider of wireless network solutions has IMMEDIATE NEED for and IP Transport Engineer for a salaried 3+ month contract opportunity, in the metro Seattle, WA area.
Responsibilities:
-> Measure the volume of broadcasting & multicasting in the network -> Make recommendations and manage the reduction of broadcasting and multicasting in the network -> Recommend and implement network analyzers and reporting as required to measure and monitor message types and protocols in use in the market -> Recommend and test changes to ARP timers and MAC entry timeouts to increase network resource efficiency -> Develop microwave backhaul network design guidelines in support of RSTP and PBT -> Develop guidelines to guide and monitor the route cost definitions, tree topology, and the implementation of RSTP in markets being converted from Expedience to WiMAX -> Review RSTP designs and configurations for conversion markets -> Review PBT designs, port assignments, and configurations for new WiMAX market builds -> Manage and monitor the Layer 2 network continuation, implementation, and fail-over testing/ATP in both conversion and new WiMAX market builds
Requirements:
-> BS or AS degree -> Knowledge of Transport requirements at Layers 1, 2 and 3 (DS0- DS3, SONET, Ethernet, ATM) -> Experience in integration and testing of equipment from different vendors -> Must be proficient in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word
