Job Description:
Oracle Database Administrator
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain high availability for all hosting Oracle databases and infrastructure Work on projects to improve database availability and supportability Perform database migration and database upgrade Perform database and SQL tuning Perform pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues. Perform regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements. Participate in rotational oncall schedule to provide 24/7 support. Perform production releases based upon release management schedule Work closely with technical teams to ensure delivery of database services within the targeted timeframe. Interface with other IT organizations to improve and implement process, procedures and automation. Assist in defining database configuration standards related to performance and sizing for both transactional and data warehouse databases. Ensure database environment meets or exceed security and compliance requirements
Requirements:
Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 9i, 10g, preferably 11g environments on Solaris and Linux Environment 3+ years experiences in performing Oracle database administration/support in Oracle RDBMS production environment. Prior experiences in database migration and database upgrade Strong knowledge of OEM /Oracle Grid for 11g Demonstrated knowledge of database internals and data structures Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge and experiences in database tuning by using available tools, such as, STATSPACK or AWR Reports Strong knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and strong understanding of PL/SQL and stored procedures/packages Strong knowledge of various features in Oracle database, i.e. partitioning Strong knowledge of Unix shell or Perl scripting languages. Good Knowledge of various generic business practices and process flow. Strong communication skills and customer-support focused attitude Strong knowledge of creating database administration processes and controls to meet security and compliance audit requirements for SOX, PCI and ISO27001 Ability to document and implement database administration architectures and operational procedures Demonstrated experience in performing data migrations and database application upgrades from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g or 11g Preferred experience and knowledge of DB2 on AS400
