Summary:
The Molecular Diagnostic Technologist performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in the Molecular Diagnostics section of the laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostic/analytic/genetic testing of specimens using molecular, DNA, and RNA based methods. Interprets, documents and reports test results
- Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Evaluates individual test and control results for effective amplification
- Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and reference ranges for test methods. Develops, optimizes and validates laboratory defined protocols
- Serves as a resource to staff as needed. Consults with staff on interpretations of molecular and genetic test results.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Level Degree, three years of experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program or equivalent to meet state requirements required.
Licenses & Certifications:
Current licensure as a Medical Technologist in the state of Florida required.
