    Patient Access Registrar represents Memorial Health System as welcoming officials to all patients and visitors who enter our facility. Responsible for accurate patient registration/admissions in a manner that promotes MHS values and contributes towards an optimum experience for patients. Accountable for proper patient identification to ensure patient safety. Initiates the Patient Revenue Cycle for maximum and timely reimbursement for MHS with utilization of registrations functions/systems, to include but not limited to the following: identification/verification of insurance eligibility, demographic data, Medicare Secondary Payor, Treatment/Consent Forms, validation of physician's privileges/orders,pre-authorizations, medical necessity, Point of Service Collections, deposits, Medicare/Tricare Rights, explanation of billing process, admits, and referrals for financial assistance programs. Performs all required duties while adhering to all Gov't, MHS, Departmental policies/procedures. Facilitates patient through-put with effective communication and collaboration with physicians and co-workers. Exhibits a team approach to service by embracing the "Go Where the Work Is" philosophy for staffing coverage. Promotes the TRUSTED Colleagues Model. Stays abreast of MHS values by attending in-services, training, staff meetings and written communications.

    Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

    Minimum Experience: At least 3 months current healthcare administrative experience, to include, one of the following: Billing, Patient Registration, Insurance Authorization, or Physician Office Clerical Experience.


    Patient Access operates in various departments/location/facilities at MHS. The hours/days of operations will vary depending on the service line and coverage required.

    Position accountabilities and skills set may vary depending on the assigned area. (ED, MHC, MH North, Business Office, UC, PPMP, Briargate, OP Clinics, Off-site Clinics, Physician Offices, etc,) The areas of assignment are determined by management, to include floating to other assigned areas, with the goal to best serve MHS patients.
