JOB DESCRIPTION: Pharmacy Technician
Position Summary : At the direction of the Assistant Director, and supervised by the pharmacist in the assigned areas, the primary function is to support the activities of the pharmacists the technician is assigned to support in the dispensing, distribution, and manipulation of drug products, devices, and supplies and to maintain applicable records. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience : 6 months to 1 year in a health related field
Education : High school or G.E.D.
Required License / Credentials : Must be 18 years of age or older; must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent; must be registered with the NJ Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician OR register as a pharmacy technician applicant within ten days of hire (completion within 6 months). CPhT preferred.
Other Required Skills : Read, write and speak English at a high school level. High school level math skills.
Contact With Others : Occasional contacts with other persons within the hospital but outside own department on routine matters only.
Supervision Given : None.
Supervision Received : Works under close supervision in carrying out specific duties and instructions.
