Physical therapists (PTs) are responsible for diagnosing and treating patients of all ages who suffer from physical conditions that limit the ability to move and/or perform daily functional activities. PTs have a number of job functions, including assessing the patient and creating an individualized treatment plan to work on the areas that could use improvement. The physical therapist also incorporates preventative measures against the loss of motor skills and promotes overall healthier lifestyles. The settings worked in include: • Acute • Home health • Long-term care • Outpatient • Pediatric • Psychiatric • Rehabilitation • School • Sports medicine
