Plant Manager
Role Summary/Purpose The Plant Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The Plant Manager is the visible and active leader of the facility, promoting a favorable and productive environment for all employees.
Essential Responsibilities Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations
Ensure that all employees are in compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies, procedures, and regulations as required
Works closely with EHS and PSM Managers to ensure strict compliance to SWPPP, SPCC and all other applicable environmental permits
Ensure compliance of production employees regarding current Quality Management Systems (ISO-9000, ISO-14000 etc.)
Time and attendance management, performance reviews and conflict resolution for all employees within the plant
Maintain an hourly employee review system that is objective and consistent
Recruits, trains, develop, and lead group leaders, and all assigned production staff
Support an environment of team based continuous improvement
Delegate appropriate responsibilities to plant leadership, empower them to perform these responsibilities, and then hold them accountable for their performance
Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering
Develop and manage budgets to approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets
Oversee the Preventive Maintenance program, develop Capital Project justifications, provide engineering expertise and oversight of capital project execution.
Auditing, updating and approval of Company and Departmental Policies and Procedures to assure absolute compliance
Trouble shoots production problems, whether process or material issues, and implement corrections through required change control to minimize impact to production and eliminate root cause
Determine root cause and implement corrective action through required change control for any assigned customer quality issues
Be proficient in extracting data and required reports from SAP to track, monitor, and troubleshoot electronic flow of information through the purchasing, inventory management, customer order management, and inter site logistics modules of the SAP system
Manages projects directly related to improved product quality, process capability, productivity and yields
Lead the effort to develop and implement plans to meet customers’ requirements for product quality, cost and delivery. Drive growth and change in a fast-moving, high-energy environment
Promote the use of six-sigma methodology in driving plant quality improvements
Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Operations Management
Minimum of 5 years of production experience, with proven plant / production leadership or supervisor experience
Eligibility Requirements:
Six Sigma training and Lean manufacturing experience
Capable of independently completing MOC and all aspects of required change control and Engineering Reports

Desired Characteristics Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or Masters of Business Administration
Six Sigma certified, preferably Black Belt (GE Candidates only)
OMLP graduate (GE Candidates only)
Payroll time and attendance system experience (Kronos)
Strong employee relations’ skills, including coaching and communication
Working Knowledge of SAP, Root Cause / Corrective Action Analysis, ISO Standards, and Cause and Effect Diagrams, OSHA standards and PSM regulations
Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
