Process Engineer

Bridgestone Americas, Inc. sells tires for passenger, light truck, truck, bus, construction, mining, agricultural, motorcycle and kart applications through more than 12,000 outlets. While we’re known for our tires, Bridgestone Americas, Inc. also manufactures and markets a variety of other rubber products, including building and industrial products, synthetic polymers and fibers and textiles.

We are currently seeking Process Engineers to join the growing team at our Aiken, SC location!

Process Engineer

• This position is responsible for the development, improvement and maintenance of processing area specs and procedures related to OR Compound and Tire processing and development.
• The position directs group personnel and coordinates the development and control of manufacturing process performance to maintain performance standards and improve both product and processing quality at minimal cost.
• Incumbent also monitors quality and processing areas to determine improvements necessary to maintain quality performance, productivity, and cost standards. 
• Monitors and improves related quality and processing areas and provides problem solving assistance for improvements in process ability, quality, performance, productivity and cost.
• Assists Tech Center with development and investigative projects regarding processing and tire development and testing.

Quality Engineer

• Develop systems and procedures and facilities education and training to plant employees to obtain qualification and plant certification.
• Coordinates all required OE new product documentation and communication.
• Analyzes and investigates failure mode analysis and trends of original equipment customer concerns.
• Promotes and coordinates countermeasures to eliminate the possibility of recurrence.
• Maintains a close relationship with all customers.
• Lead the quality engineering activities with the operations and functional groups in the plant.

Minimum requirements for Quality & Process Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering, chemistry or related field
• Willingness to travel to the plant to observe and analyze equipment and processes and assist in project implementation work.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness to maintain a personal library to include reference books, manuals, technical papers and reports and to visit trade shows, technical seminars, and/or read technical publications to keep abreast of latest technology.
• Willingness to attend selected courses to maintain skills and to maintain technical liaisons with manufacturers and suppliers that have equipment that can be used to improve processes and equipment, technical professionals and manufacturing personnel competent in the tire manufacturing industry.
