Special Events Position Reports To: Director of Events Estimating & Production Management Position Summary This position is accountable for developing and managing the budgets (estimated costs) and the production process from project inception through installation for the assigned project. This position would be responsible for ensuring all jobs are produced as cost effectively and efficiently as possible to achieve the creative objectives of the proposal, the client?s needs, meets Hargrove?s quality standards and the financial objectives of the company. The PM is ultimately responsible for directing the project through installation. The PM will participate as part of an assigned team consisting of sales, account management, design, detail, production project management and purchasing. The PM will lead the production process in order to achieve these objectives and to promote cost effective procedures in the production process. Levels of Authority This position is the decision maker as it relates to the production method or process to be used on an assigned job after receiving direction and input from the production department on the production methods as well as sales to ensure the production method/process will achieve the client?s objectives. This position would recommend any budgetary or buying decisions to VP if it deviates from the estimate or a budget. Skills, Qualifications & Abilities * Five to ten years experience in production management or related field. * Experience in fabrication of scenery, exhibits, props or related items. * Ability to create and read technical drawings. * Demonstrate a working knowledge of current codes, production procedures and materials and installation methods unique to our business units. * Excellent professional written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with Hargrove personnel, venue staff and clients when needed. * Excellent working knowledge of computer systems and software including Microsoft Office and AutoCad. * Ability and initiative to work independently and as part of a team. * Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
