SUMMARY:The Production Scheduler assimilates, analyzes and distributes incoming job materials related to the Plate Technology Center (PTC) production requirements. This position acts as the primary liaison amongst the plate technology center, production facility and customer regarding the press scheduling requirements to ensure that the incoming jobs are assembled and managed efficiently and accurately. The Production Scheduler directly drives profitability through efforts that help operations produce a high quality product efficiently and resulting in customer satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare and distribute PTC production schedules and assist in coordinating production activities to ensure production and quality meets customer specifications * Enter job specifications into the scheduling system based on estimated run time and quantity of jobs * Analyze production schedules for conflicts and report potential problems to the appropriate parties * Coordinates with division schedulers to determine and confirm schedules that will best utilize press time, press capacity, paper-to-run sizes and file deliveries to maximize efficiencies * Perform customer service functions as necessary including: answering incoming calls, documenting external customer information / changes and disseminating information to all appropriate production staff * Establish and maintain lines of communication with all necessary parties to ensure efficient and timely completion of jobs * Modifies schedules as necessary to meet forecast changes with the approval of the Production Supervisors * Attend production meetings as required * May be required to work flexible overtime hours as required during peak production periods Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education and abilities): * Possess high school diploma or GED equivalent * Ability to read, write and understand basic English Required Experience
* At least 1 year experience in a scheduling or coordinating role in a production department * Proficient computer skills including ability to perform data entry, utilize email applications and Microsoft office applications * Ability to shift priorities as production requirements indicate. * Understand internal and external customer requirements and is able to anticipate need * Understand the basic components of the printing and production processes Job Location Manassas, VA, US.
